There is a waiting list for a standard account. If you upgrade to the Gold account, you can bypass the waiting list. The only requirement to upgrade to the Gold account is to input a credit or debit card. Your card is not kept on file. It's basically used to confirm your Gold account. If you are hesitant about using a card linked to your bank account, you can use a Pay Pal Debit card if you have one, or some kind of prepaid debit card. I used my Pay Pal debit card. By all means if you don't feel comfortable putting in a credit or debit card, you can still sign up for the standard account and then you will get your Amazon gift code when your turn on the waiting list comes up.
As soon as you are signed up to Clover, you will confirm your account via text message or voice confirmation code. Then a link will be available for you to receive the Amazon gift code to your e-mail. You will then also have the option to send invites to other friends via contacts, text message or e-mail.
Clover is a free application similar to Pay Pal in which you utilize to send money to friends. They are giving you free $5 Amazon Gift Code just for signing up for their service. Again, it is totally free and you don't have to pay anything. You can also invite your friends and receive MORE *FREE* Amazon gift codes. If you upgrade your account to Gold, Clover will also give you $1.00 which you can then send to your bank account and Pay Pal. I had it sent to my Pay Pal as I thought this would be safer. You just input your Pay Pal e-mail address, and it will shortly appear in your account.
Note: Even if you don't plan on using the service (which I don't), it's an easy way to get some free money!
